If you've ever watched an Apple's Summer WWDC, then you know that iOS, and software in general, tend to be the focus, and this year was no different, give or take a few exceptions. Similarly, entrepreneur camps "for female founders" have recently "expanded the camps to reach black and Latin founders." Apple's hope, according to Tim Cook, is to create "tools, technologies, and inspiration to change the world for the better." Tim Cook also thought it was important to highlight their attempt to cultivating next generation engineers and unrepresented communities using developer academies.Īpple recently opened, last October, an Academy in Detroit geared toward what Tim Cook called Apple's "racial equity and justice initiative." They also opened one in Saudi Arabia specifically for women.
Tech talks allow developers to learn more about Apple technologies, connect with Apple engineers, and have one-on-one office hours. The purpose of this article is to give you an easy-to-read version of an otherwise long event, since I know not everyone has two hours on a Monday to watch the Apple Keynote.Īt the beginning of WWDC22, Tim Cook highlighted the importance of the "over 34 million Apple developers" stating, "use their superpowers to innovate, create, and collaborate, making apps that continue to change the world." So, first and foremost, Tim Cook announced the recent opening of Tech Talks for developers. Note: Not every new Apple feature is listed in this article. If you are as eager as I am to scope out those two new, next generation products, let's get into it! Though the Apple Summer WWDC's tend to be more about software and less about hardware, there are two new products announced that you can spend the next four months or so drooling over!
Don't worry, though, if you were hoping for some flashy new products to buy this Fall, you won't be disappointed. While WWDC22's introduction was slightly less exciting and action-packed than in previous years, it focused on big-picture issues that are indisputably more important than some flashy WWDC introduction.
APPLE KEYNOTE EVENT FULL
Introduced with the statement "Code one, code all," Apple largely focused on providing education, jobs, and equal opportunity to developers, while employing a fun superhero theme complete with Craig Federighi doing a full on superhero run and combing his hands through his hair. With a superhero, futuristic theme and a focus on next generation technology, Apple WWDC22 (Worldwide Developer's Conference 2022) approached Apple's newest software and technology from the mindset of world-change, equality, and ethical impact.
